Adjusts for perfect chain tension
Adjustable chain line

For cyclone motor chains and freewheels to last a reasonable amount of time, the chain cant be too tight.  But if your going to make money the chain can't be too loose such that it falls off.  We designed a system to help address this and put your chain in the "Goldi-Locks Zone"  Not too tight, not too loose, just right. This bolts to our  cyclone motor cradles and moves with the motor when its position is adjusted.

By adjusting the chain length, and the position of the motor you can set the spring loaded tension to ride in a location that does not interfere with or ride on the other sprockets or tap the motor cross bar.  It can be a fine balancing act to get it just right.

The up side to using the chain tensioner with your cyclone pedicab motor system is that you can get longer service lives out of your motor chain and motor freewheel.  The down side is the time spent getting things just right and the technique to do it by are a little complicated.  A second downside is that if the motor freewheel stops spinning freely due to dust contamination or wear, the back pressure from the chain can cause the chain to  Jump around.  Lubing the freewheel can often reduce the jumpiness.
